Nestled on the River Shannon, Killaloe is a quiet, quaint city just 18 miles/29.5 km north of Limerick. We are away from a touristy hub so that we can enjoy Ireland in all of its grandeur and authenticity. You will breathe in the fresh Celtic air, you will wander through ancient grounds, you will meet local writers whose heritage is steeped in the tradition of writing and storytelling.
As a writers retreat, our group will experience a balance of collaborative time, group activities, as well as free time to amplify the writer’s creative mind. With an exquisite 360 view of the Irish hills and constant breezes that seem to carry bygone voices, we will be immersed in the local culture, network with locals and with one another, encourage ideas and creativity. We will enjoy local cuisine and wander through historic sites, participate in activities all while taking time to grow and develop your own ideas for writing, storytelling, journaling, and reflecting.

The retreat is designed to stimulate creativity and storytelling in a deeply supportive cultural context:
Creative Focus: Participants spend meaningful time on their own writing projects — whether that’s journaling, fiction, memoir, poetry, or other forms of storytelling — with space to think, plan, draft, and reflect.
Cultural Immersion: Through local experiences, the local Irish writers are there to be a catalyst of inspiration and narrative fuel.
Community: The small group will build motivation and creative momentum together.
Exploration & Flow: Free time is also built into the schedule so you can wander, embrace your surroundings, and let ideas take shape at your own pace.
The overall vibe is less about formal workshops and more about creative presence, inspiration, and deep engagement with your own work in a culturally rich environment.
