Dear Family, friends, and fabulous people:
I’ve been working on a SECRET project for over a year now and am finally ready to announce it! Please join me in spreading the good news about my new side business venture: Link2Cultures LLC!
What: I am a Travel Coach, Consultant, and Educator who will work with clients seeking guidance for: educational travel [faculty building a class, study abroad guidance, volunteering abroad, etc.], ancestry work and taking heritage trips, general travel consultation – endless options! Stay tuned for community events and other external opportunities. Those announcements will be on my website and social media platforms.
Purpose: My goal is to help the traveler connect to themselves and to the host culture for a deeper appreciation and knowledge base of their destination. The problems I see on social media platforms are the promotions of just the ‘insta-worthy’ photos and videos in places. I’m concerned about the lack of highlighting the actual connection to that host culture and appreciating it on a human level. I want clients to be a curious, empathetic wanderer rather than a disconnected, rushed tourist.
Why: At some point during the pandemic when my former job in International Education was at a halt with no programs or travel, I had an epiphany that I had SO much knowledge to offer beyond that role. So, I started building a business foundation around the scopes of educational travel, ancestry research and heritage travel, but also general travel questions. Through entrepreneurial efforts, I can share guidance and advice that dives deeper than travel logistics. In general, traveling is my favorite hobby, so now I have the ability to use my creative energy in the best way.
When: I still work a regular job (because #insurance and #retirement), so I’m here for after hours and weekend consultations when available. I’ll promote other opportunities as they arise.
What’s not offered: At this time, I will not create itineraries for clients or book services [flights, hotels, etc.]. My business is separate from a travel agent. However, I can offer guidance on culturally-enriching experiences, study abroad programs/volunteer opportunities, ancestry travel considerations and give general advice. I can even guide clients as they make their bookings if needed .

A huge THANK YOU to my former student worker for building the logo and beautiful website, and to my friends who proofread and provided feedback as they navigated around the website. Bear with me as I still work out the finer points.
