Meet the Founder
Hello and welcome to my website! I am Megan, a Midwestern gal who has an insatiable curiosity and passion for travel and learning. My Travel Coach business was created to empower others on their own journey, mentally and emotionally. I’ve always had a keen interest in learning about other cultures through a more human-to-human connection and also learning about my own heritage. When I was a kid, I listened so closely to my grandmother’s stories about her family immigrating to the USA. Imagine a child trying to fathom that pieces of you are from other parts of the world. As I grew, my curiosity grew with every book I read and projects in school. That knowledge expansion is really the foundation of my passion for learning about different parts of the world. This would guide me on my college studies, learn a foreign language to study abroad, and travel independently to 23 countries on 5 continents and counting. The more I can travel, the more I’m excited to share with you!
As a Travel Coach, I am here to apply my experiences to guide and advise those who are ready to catch the travel bug (or already have), and are on the proverbial road to self-discovery. My goal is to help clients glow up from a busy tourist to a curious wanderer. Travel is a personal benefit which has helped me grow, appreciate my roots, healed me from grief, and kept me grounded. I am excited to work with those who need guidance on building meaningful experiences and want to consider cultural nuances and sensitivities. And, of course, learn! Travel impacts you from the beginning, middle, and end; a roundtrip experience! I want to also help you “unpack” your adventure to reflect on this newly-acquired lens and how it has impacted you.
While I do not complete any bookings or build itineraries for clients at this time, I’m here as a guide for those to make the mental and emotional investment into organizing those experiences and learning about their host cultures. At my heart and to my core, I am an educator. I provide services for educational travel. If you (or your student) are considering a study abroad program, I can guide you on what to consider and how to work with your college advisor. If you are faculty and are curious about traveling with a class, I can assist you with your needs and considerations. I can also be a guide with heritage research if you are considering trips to your ancestral home. Learning about yourself and your roots is an important component in fostering an appreciation of that host culture.
